The UAE Ministry of Finance has announced targeted amendments to the national e-Invoicing framework, extending the deadline for large businesses to appoint an Accredited Service Provider (ASP). Businesses with annual revenues exceeding AED 50 million now have until 30 October 2026 to complete their ASP appointment, replacing the previous deadline of 31 July 2026.
The extension gives in-scope taxpayers additional time to assess provider options, align internal systems, and prepare ERP integration activities. However, the overall implementation timeline remains unchanged. Large businesses must still be ready to comply with the UAE e-Invoicing system from 1 January 2027.
The Ministry indicated that the amendment follows feedback from taxpayers and an assessment of market readiness, including provider availability, pricing, and technology options. Therefore, the extension should be viewed as additional preparation time rather than a postponement of the mandate itself.
In parallel, the Ministry introduced greater flexibility in the ASP accreditation framework. Under the updated rules, accredited ASPs may use third-party PSP technology, including white-label solutions, outsource certain technical or operational functions, and form local or international partnerships to deliver e-Invoicing services in the UAE.
This change is expected to support faster ecosystem development by allowing local ASPs to rely on established technology providers with operational e-Invoicing experience. However, regulatory responsibility remains fully with the accredited ASP.
