On July 1, 2023, Egypt will completely cease the use of paper invoices

The Egyptian government currently accepts paper invoices as a basis for tax deductions. However, as of July 1, 2023, the era of paper invoices is completely over. The Egyptian Tax Authority has established a centralized system to monitor and electronically verify business transactions and has gradually integrated taxpayers into the system. Finally, in April 2023, it included the last group of taxpayers in the last phase.

The Egyptian government has announced that from July 2023, tax deduction companies will not be able to submit paper invoices, and even if they do, they will not be considered valid, as it will be mandatory to issue e-invoices for both B2B and B2C transactions.
