China’s State Taxation Administration (STA) keeps expanding the introduction of Fully Digitalized e-Fapiao, lately new provinces joined to the expanding pilot program.
From January 20, 2023, new registered taxpayers in Shanghai are covered under the pilot program. Taxpayers in Shanghai no longer need to issue ordinary VAT e-Invoices or special e-Invoices from the date they joined to the pilot program
From January 28, 2023, Chongqing, Dalian, Tianjin, Shaanxi, Qingdao provinces have joined to the pilot program.
By 31 January 2023, Shanghai, Inner Mongolia, Chongqing, Dalian, Tianjin, Shaanxi, Qingdao, Guangdong, Sıchuan, Xiamen, have been included in the expanding pilot program. Taxpayers who do not have access to the internet can be temporarily excluded from the pilot program.
The Fully digitalized e-Fapiao is expected to be used nationwide by 2025.
