What Is eCoC?
The Electronic Certificate of Conformity replaces document-driven vehicle conformity processes with structured electronic vehicle information.
Under Regulation (EU) 2018/858, electronic conformity data supports the digital exchange of vehicle information between manufacturers, type-approval authorities and registration authorities.
The new process requires manufacturers to prepare their systems for structured vehicle data generation and secure electronic communication with the relevant regulatory infrastructure.

How does SNI support EU eCoC compliance?
SNI provides an end-to-end Electronic Certificate of Conformity (eCoC) solution that enables automotive manufacturers to automate the generation, validation, signing, transmission, and monitoring of electronic vehicle conformity data required under the European regulatory framework.
The solution supports the complete eCoC lifecycle, including vehicle data extraction, data mapping, IVI 2.0 compliant XML generation, XML validation, electronic signing or sealing, transmission, response monitoring, error handling, and status tracking.
Vehicle and type-approval data is automatically extracted from the manufacturer’s ERP or manufacturing system and mapped to the required IVI 2.0 data structure. SNI then generates the required XML file and validates it against the applicable XML schemas and business rules before transmission. This enables manufacturers to identify missing or incorrect vehicle information before the eCoC data is submitted to the relevant authority.
Generated eCoC XML files can be integrated with the required electronic signature or electronic seal infrastructure, supporting the authenticity and integrity requirements applicable to electronic conformity information. Following validation and signing, the data is securely transmitted through the relevant National Access Point (NAP) or national authority infrastructure for further exchange within the European vehicle information ecosystem.
Designed for maximum flexibility, SNI integrates with SAP as well as any non-SAP ERP or manufacturing system. For SAP environments, the solution can support SAP ECC 4.7 and higher, SAP ERP, SAP S/4HANA, and SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP), while remaining fully ERP-independent for manufacturers using other enterprise systems.
