The Greek Government announced that by the end of December 2022, companies will be required to issue e-invoices for transactions related to government procurement. However, there was no specific decision on the scope of responsibility and deadline. On April 12, 2023, the State issued a decision to move to Phase 2 of the implementation of B2G E-invoicing. According to this decision, in Phase 2 of the E-invoice application, taxpayers will enter the scope of obligation in waves. The dates announced regarding this are as follows;
January 1, 2024, suppliers to all government organizations will be obliged.
June 1, 2024, suppliers and all other government authorities will be obliged to issue e-invoice.
January 1, 2025, other government expenses must be e-invoiced
