In Lithuania, e-Invoice is mandatory for B2G transactions since 2017 and the regulation has been made in accordance with the Peppol standard. Recently, Lithuania has started the long process of introducing electronic invoicing for taxpayers which will be based on the EU standard on e-Invoicing (EN 16931). The Ministry for the Economy has started scoping a project implementation plan that will include a free service to supplement an API-based submission from EPRs and an accounting system service of invoices covering the submission of sales invoices and exchange with customers. The e-Invoicing tool is expected to be introduced in September 2023 as well as meeting the Peppol Network requirements and complying with Peppol BIS 3.0.
