Malaysian People Authority announced the official release of PINT MY Version 1.2.0, published on 11 June 2025. This update introduces significant enhancements to Malaysia’s Peppol International (PINT) framework, ensuring greater alignment with the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM) requirements and improving the overall e-invoicing system.
Key Updates in PINT MY Version 1.2.0
1. Enhancements to Malaysian Specialisation of PINT
- btmy-017: Introduced to the invoice to indicate the pre-payment time.
- btmy-018: Added to the invoice and credit note to support the IRBM Unique Identifier Number as a preceding invoice reference.
- btmy-001: Syntax binding for the IRBM Unique Identifier Number in the credit note is now aligned with the invoice.
2. Updates to Code Lists
- Added new tax category codes to align with LHDNM requirements.
Implementation Timeline
- Until 14 September 2025: PINT MY Version 1.1.0 (Q4 2024 release) remains mandatory for all service providers.
- From 15 September 2025: PINT MY Version 1.2.0 becomes mandatory.
The implementation period begins on 11 June 2025, allowing sufficient time for preparation and transition.
Important Notice: Removal of Tax Category Code ‘T’
Please be advised that the legacy tax category code ‘T’ will be deprecated in the next release. All users must adopt the updated code list moving forward.
