After successful e-Invoice implementation in November 2021 for 6 cities. The Vietnamese government planned phase 2 between April 2022 and July 2022 covers all cities. From that moment, paper invoices would not be accepted. Vietnam joined the countries with the clearance model in the e-Invoicing system.
With the close follow-up and guidance of the government, from June 26, 2022 99.7% of all businesses from the central level to the local level, which are included in the entire tax system and use invoices, have switched to the new digital invoice system. According to the records, a total of 64,811 enterprises issued 511 million e-Invoices in accordance with the legislation. From 30 June, the transition rate to e-Invoice reached 100%.
