OpenPeppol has released PINT AE v1.0.1, the latest version of the UAE-specific Peppol specification covering both Billing and Self-Billing use cases. This version introduces revised technical components such as updated code lists, syntax bindings, and validation rules aligned with UAE VAT requirements, including mandatory use of AED currency and classification of transactions like reverse charge, free zone, and e-commerce. While not yet fully aligned with the PINT General specification, full compliance is targeted by early 2026.
The specification defines the structure and content of e-invoices to be exchanged via the Peppol network under the five-corner model, with Accredited Service Providers responsible for document validation and transmission. This update serves as a critical step in the UAE’s digital tax transformation, ahead of the country’s mandatory e-invoicing go-live in July 2026.
